The Gauteng Provincial government has called up on the public to nominate outstanding projects and individuals for the 2017 Gauteng Premier’s Service Excellence Awards (GPSEA).
The GPSEA is an annual ceremony where Premier David Makhura recognises the difference made by individuals and organisations in improving the socio-economic growth and transformation in the province.
“This administration recognises the significant contribution that is made by other stakeholders to the transformation agenda in Gauteng,” said Premier Makhura.
As part of the provincial government’s Ntirhisano outreach programme, Premier Makhura said that he has seen innovative partnerships that contribute to job creation, empowerment and social cohesion, amongst others.
“This has broadened the scope of the awards in a unique approach by government to recognise and reward significant and exceptional contribution of individuals, and organisations in improving the lives of communities in the province,” Premier Makhura added.
Nominations are for the following categories:
• Social Transformation award
• Economic Growth award
• Clean Governance award
• Innovation award
• Sustainable Development award
• Celebrated Individual award
There’s also the Premier’s Special Award, which will be awarded at the sole discretion of Premier Makhura and his Executive council.
Closing date for nominations is on 27 January and the ceremony will be held on 28 February 2017.
