The Gauteng Provincial Government's flagship program, Tshepo 1 million took center stage at the Rand Show this past weekend and was a favorite amongst the youth.
Spotted on the Tshepo 1 Million registration queue, was Yandile Mashego (25) who was happy with an opportunity to get employment. "I am happy to have come here today because I am hopeful that registering on Tshepo 1 million is a step closer to getting employment. I will definitely encourage other young people to come to the Rand show as it is not only about fun but also getting access to various opportunities," said Mashego.
Whilst Talani Mhlanga (19) had this to say: "I am considering signing up with Tshepo 1 Million because I took a gap year and I don't want to waste this year sitting at home doing nothing. I think it would help me build my work skills as I am currently looking for a part time job."
Mhlanga also encouraged young people not to lose hope in search of employment opportunities.
"It is hard waking up each and every day to look for a job, with no hope of finding one. But I think the trick is always being positive and being hopeful that something will come up," said Mhlanga.
The Rand Show is currently under way at the Nasrec Expo center until Sunday 28 April 2019.
